Viva Las Vegas! We had a great time at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Prior to the Nextel Cup race, we were treated to a fantastic morning in the sponsor hospitality area. We took several pictures of the team show cars (see Race Photos), and got a chance to meet and talk with Jeff Gordon and Kyle Busch.
Jeff’s time was limited because he had to go to the pre-race drivers meeting. We did get in a couple of quick questions though. “With the popularity of NASCAR and more races being held out west, are some teams planning on relocating to the mid-west?” Jeff responded that maybe some new teams would set up shop in a more central location, but the existing teams have too many resources already in place, and it would be too costly to relocate. Jeff Gordon was also asked about his boat. He said that it is over 100 feet long! He likes to hang out on it in his spare time and enjoys scuba diving.
For the race, we got to sit in the newly opened Dale Earnhardt Terrace at LVMS, great theatre type seating with a fantastic view of the entire track. If you ever get the chance to see a race there, that is the place to sit.
That’s it from us for now. Please send us your commentary contributions to Contact@TeamLGR.com.
